At the heart of the MTX JackHammer sits a 6.5-inch high-temperature voice coil with 17 AWG aluminium winding wire. Together, these components support the subwoofer’s demanding power requirements.
In addition, an aluminium shorting ring and progressive roll spider help reduce distortion and control cone movement. This combination supports powerful bass reproduction when paired with suitable amplification and a correctly designed enclosure.
Heavy-Duty JackHammer Construction
The T9922-22 features a sand-cast aluminium basket and a 56.25-pound magnet structure. Meanwhile, the carbon and glass fibre dustcap combines stiffness with relatively low weight, helping the moving assembly maintain its shape during demanding playback.
The substantial surround also accommodates cone travel, while 8 AWG set-screw terminals at both voice-coil inputs provide secure connections for large speaker cables.
